ESD Panel

Apex , Well Testing has developed its own set of fabrication specifications to ensure that equipment used by Apex Petroleum Services, Well Testing meets or exceeds all local requirements. Apex Petroleum Services, Well Testing specifications are primarily based on the following worldwide recognised specifications:

Equipment Design and Fabrication Specifications

  • API Spec 6A – Specification for Valves and Wellhead Equipment
  • ASME VIII For construction of pressure vessels , Div 1&2
  • API RP 14C – Recommended Practice for Analysis, Design, Installation, and Testing of Basic Surface Safety Systems on Offshore Production Platforms
  • NACE MR-01-75
  • Product Specification Level (PSL) 3
  • Material Class DD
  • Temperature Class P&X (-20° F to +350° F)

ESD Panel

Apex Petroleum Services uses Hydraulic Control Panels to operate the hydraulic actuators fitted to the surface test tree and surface safety valve.

The Apex Petroleum Services range of hydraulic control panels is designed to provide the hydraulic pressure required to hold open various types and makes of actuated valves. These panels also supply pneumatic control line pressure to the Emergency Shutdown (ESD) system.

Emergency Shutdown (ESD) System:

An ESD is triggered by:

  • Manual initiation of a remote ESD Station, or
  • Automatically, by sensors linked through a low-pressure pneumatic circuit on the Well Test Package.

Each panel contains an emergency shut-in button and provides provisions for an unlimited number of remote buttons, as well as Hi-Lo pressure shutdown pilots.

Features and Benefits:

Override Facility to allow valves to be maintained in the open position during pressure testing, etc.

  • Manual or Air Supply Operation of the pump.
  • Single Action Fail-Safe System for enhanced safety.
  • Ports for Optional Pilots to accommodate additional needs.
  • Hydraulic Reservoir for system fluid storage.
