The atmospheric tank is used to store produced liquids before disposal. Atmospheric tanks are manufactured for various volumes and are available as single or twin compartments. They are manufactured with the necessary inlet and outlet piping, a safety relief system, and a detonation arrestor.
Where required, the tanks have the necessary skid mounts for vertical or horizontal storage.
The atmospheric tank can be used to measure low flow rates or to calibrate flow meters prior to flowing the well.
Safety Features
- Flame arrestors on both vents of the gauge tank
- A thief hatch (safety seams) in case the vessel is accidentally overpressurized
Atmospheric tanks are not to be used when H2S is present, as venting to the atmosphere in the vicinity of the vessel can occur.
Applications
- Onshore and offshore well testing
- Measure large volume of liquid at atmospheric pressure
- Measure low liquid flow rate
Features and Benefits
- Liquid level indication
- Thief hatch to prevent overpressuring of the vessel
- Detonation arrestor to prevent flashback of any ignited gases from the vent line
- Can be third-party certified in accordance with requirements
