Indirect-Gas Fired Heater

Apex , Well Testing has developed its own set of fabrication specifications to ensure that equipment used by Apex Petroleum Services, Well Testing meets or exceeds all local requirements. Apex Petroleum Services, Well Testing specifications are primarily based on the following worldwide recognised specifications:

Equipment Design and Fabrication Specifications

  • API Spec 6A – Specification for Valves and Wellhead Equipment
  • ASME VIII For construction of pressure vessels , Div 1&2
  • API RP 14C – Recommended Practice for Analysis, Design, Installation, and Testing of Basic Surface Safety Systems on Offshore Production Platforms
  • NACE MR-01-75
  • Product Specification Level (PSL) 3
  • Material Class DD
  • Temperature Class P&X (-20° F to +350° F)

Indirect-Gas Fired Heater

The Apex Indirect Gas Fired Heater is engineered for safe, efficient, and reliable performance in onshore and offshore oil & gas operations. It features the HBB Inline Fuel Train & PF2100 BMS (Burner Management System). The HBB Inline Fuel Train is designed for on/off applications and arrives onsite preassembled, with double-block, inline gas-rated 6.5 C/I approved shutdown solenoids and a slow-opening control valve. This fuel train is designed for applications between 0 to 3.5 MMBTU where simple on/off operation is desired.

The PF2100 BMS (Burner Management System) is an advanced electronic control and monitoring system designed for use on a wide variety of natural draft burner industrial applications up to 12.5MM BTU/h. Hinged and clamped, or two-piece flame arrestors, provide superior protection for the flame cell, particularly during maintenance activities. This design not only simplifies future maintenance tasks but also enables the lifting of heavy components while ensuring the safety of the cell.

Robust, field-proven, and safety-focused, the Apex heater solution ensures seamless integration into well testing and production applications.

Applications:

  • Onshore and offshore well testing Operations.
  • Pre-heating of process fluids and gas streams.

Key Safety Features Include:

Temperature Control & Monitoring:

  • Temperature Indicator Controller (TIC) ensures fluid temperature remains within safe limits.
  • Stack Temperature High-High (TSHH) monitors exhaust gas temperatures to avoid overheating and potential equipment damage.

Liquid Level Controls:

  • High-Level Liquid Switch (LSHH) on the fuel gas drum prevents overfill, helping mitigate spill and fire hazards.

Hazardous Area Compliance:

  • Fully designed and certified for safe operation in hazardous environments, meeting oil and gas industry safety standards.

The Apex heater combines rugged construction, integrated safety systems, and flexible application to deliver reliable heat management in both onshore and offshore settings.
