It is normally positioned upstream of the choke manifold to prevent damage to downstream equipment caused by erosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Apex sand filter<\/strong> incorporates an ISO-sized container skid frame housing the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Two filter vessels<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Double valve isolation<\/strong> on each vessel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inlet, outlet, drain, and flush line<\/strong> on each vessel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Common bypass line<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Telescopic lifting arm<\/strong> and pneumatic hoist to aid removal and installation of the filter screens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Differential pressure sensing port<\/strong> on each vessel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Work platform<\/strong> at the top of each vessel to allow access for removal and installation of filter screens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Various sizes of filter screens<\/strong> available for use with the sand filter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Features and Benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meets applicable industry standards for added safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can be third-party certified in accordance with ISO requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sized skid for ease of transportation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dual vessels and dual valve isolation allow for continued use while cleaning a standby vessel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clamp and hub assembly on vessel hatch reduces time to open and close vessels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pneumatic lift hoist to assist with removal and installation of filter screens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Range of screen sizes available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allows increased flow rates from wells that are choked back to reduce sand production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoids wellhead choke erosion and change-out frequency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoids erosion and blockages in downstream process equipment (e.g., pump seals, control valves)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The two filter vessels are connected in parallel and can either be used independently or together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Independently<\/strong>, the filter vessels are split into &#8216;duty&#8217; and &#8216;standby&#8217;. The flow is passed through the duty vessel until the screen requires it to be emptied.
