Produced Water Treatment

Apex , Well Testing has developed its own set of fabrication specifications to ensure that equipment used by Apex Petroleum Services, Well Testing meets or exceeds all local requirements. Apex Petroleum Services, Well Testing specifications are primarily based on the following worldwide recognised specifications:

Equipment Design and Fabrication Specifications

  • API Spec 6A – Specification for Valves and Wellhead Equipment
  • ASME VIII For construction of pressure vessels , Div 1&2
  • API RP 14C – Recommended Practice for Analysis, Design, Installation, and Testing of Basic Surface Safety Systems on Offshore Production Platforms
  • NACE MR-01-75
  • Product Specification Level (PSL) 3
  • Material Class DD
  • Temperature Class P&X (-20° F to +350° F)

Produced Water Treatment

APEX’s advanced produced water treatment system is designed to efficiently remove oil from produced water during development well testing and clean-up operations. Water produced in these phases often contains stable oily emulsions that require effective treatment prior to safe environmental discharge.

Our system utilizes compact, skid-mounted vessels equipped with high-performance oil adsorption filter cartridges. These cartridges are engineered to handle a broad spectrum of process contaminants and can be arranged for either parallel or series operation based on the clean-up requirements.

Each vessel is capable of removing up to 72 kg of oil with a separation efficiency of 90–95%, achieving oil-in-water concentrations as low as 5 mg/l. The system’s performance is continuously monitored using an industry-leading oil content analyzer to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Applications:

  • Onshore and offshore oil and gas well testing and clean-up operations.

Key Features Include:

  • Compact Footprint – Skid-mounted for ease of transport and installation
  • High Separation Efficiency – Effectively handles difficult emulsions
  • Reduced Environmental Impact – Lowers discharge contaminants and minimizes chemical usage
  • Flexible Operation – Adaptable to varying process demands
  • Cost Efficiency – Reduces burden on facility systems and lowers overall water treatment costs
